Many of you have heard rumors that there will be a sweet Klout House for SxSW this March. For once, the rumor mill is right and the Klout Krib should definitely be on your Austin to-do list.
We want to invite you to our first Klout event at the Krib on Saturday, March 12th from 12PM – 3PM. We’ll have food and drinks (including Veev cocktails) poolside and 75 influencers will get special edition HeyDay Footwear (watch out for a Perk invite). Not to mention The UserVoice Challenge Cab will be shuttling as many people to the event as possible for free – AND giving out nifty prizes. If you can’t get in the challenge cab, we’ll also have a limo for additional transport.
UPDATE: We’re pleased to announce that AudioRunner will be playing for us! Self-defined “Rocktronic” group Audio Runner combines vocal, instrumental and electronic sounds that explore different genres for each new track. Audio Runner is perfect for the KloutUp since they came to existence through social media.
Nadia G. from Bitchin Kitchen will also be joining us and presenting one of our signature dishes. Yum!

Recently, we had a joint hackathon with the teams at bit.ly and Klout – it rocked.
Combine great energy, awesome developers and a company culture that values rapid innovation and what do you get? Products like Klout for Chrome (beta release). Using your Chrome browser, you can install the Klout extension by clicking here.
Klout for Chrome places a Klout influence score next to the people you follow when using http://twitter.com. From the moment you install the Google Chrome browser extension you’ll see Klout influence scores in your stream.
We’ve found it particularly useful when applied to Twitter lists. Now you can check out people’s relative influence within any Twitter list. Or conversely, it’s fun to build new Twitter lists based on people’s Klout scores.
Enjoy! This is a beta release, we looking forward to hearing your feedback.
Continually improving Klout’s measurement of online influence is our core focus. Social networks are dynamic. As a result, we continually enrich our data sources and evolve our algorithms to measure people’s ability to generate content and conversations that drive actions across the social web.
Today, we’re pleased to announce several improvements to the Klout score and its platform.
Enriched our data sources
Re-engineered our data collection and influence signal parsing platform to capture a broader set of key influence signals across an even larger population
Improved the quality of our scoring algorithm by both adding new influence inputs and adjusting the importance of inputs for individuals and their influence networks
So, what does this mean for my score?
As a result of these changes, your score may change. On the Score Analysis section of our site (free registration required) you will see an event marker on your Klout Score chart. This marker shows you if your score went up, down or stayed the same as a result of our improvements.
Thank you for the support and the passion so many of you express around your Klout score.

With its new funding freshly announced, Seesmic moved darn quickly to add Klout into it’s Web client, with an eye toward serving the social media power users: users who use social networks as a way to drive business and create new relationships.
At Klout, we’re smitten by the opportunity to drive a deeper partnership with Loic and the crew, especially with the often-lauded Seesmic Desktop Klout plugin one of the finest Klout integrations to date.
As with the Seesmic Desktop Klout plugin, displaying the Klout score lets Seesmic offer unique information to professionals who use Seesmic Desktop to engage in conversations that create marketing opportunities, sales, or just good business relationships. Discovering brand advocates and topical experts is simply a job more easily done with the Klout influence information.
All hail the Seesmic crew. Now, Kloutizens, let’s make some noise for a little Klout love in Seesmic mobile client.
